Workers in entertainment venues bargaining together

Workers in entertainment venues bargaining together

United Voice members from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide Convention Centre, and Coopers Stadium are now working together for better wages and conditions!

From the 1st of January 2016, United Voice became the sole union covering the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide Convention Centre, and Coopers Stadium.

These venues now fall under the Adelaide Venue Management Corporation (AVMC).

This means that United Voice will now represent workers at all three sites, and members can bargain together for better wages and conditions.

Negotiations are now about to commence with the AVMC for a single new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. When ratified, this Agreement will mean employees can accept shifts across all three sites.

United Voice representatives will work hard to ensure that the premium conditions of the existing Agreements are enshrined in the new Enterprise Agreement.

That’s why workers at AVMC sites need to join together as United Voice members to assist in negotiating a strong Enterprise Agreement.

Members at all sites are currently completing bargaining surveys to make sure their views are heard.

Harry Bullitis is an active member at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

“I’m looking forward to being involved in enterprise bargaining this year for a new Agreement.

“I want to support other members at my worksite and make sure everyone gets a voice in negotiations.”
