In the first week of September, the new Royal Adelaide Hospital opened.

United Voice Delegates and members have been working hard to build strength in numbers at their new worksite.

United Voice members work as Patient Support Service Assistants (or PSSAs), Orderlies, and Cleaners, as well as in Security, Catering, the Central Sterile Services Department, Diet Monitoring and Waste Management.

United Voice Delegate Petina Warner says, “The new hospital looks beautiful. The big move has had its struggles, but we’re working through it together and we’re very happy with the facilities.”

United Voice Delegate Ben Winkler says,

“I love the new RAH. I think it’s a great facility.

“In my role as a PSSA, we are now more integrated with the clinical staff, so we work better as a team.”

Linda Christopoulos is a United Voice Delegate in the CSSD area.

“It’s been a massive job to get everything prepared. It’s going to take some time for everything to get into a routine, but once we’ve settled in it’s going to be fantastic.

“The new facilities are really good, especially the outdoor areas - and the food court is much better!”
